His Cruel And Agonizing
Death
It was cruel and agonizing
The way our Savior died that day.
Killing Him was not enough
They stripped His dignity away.
They stripped His clothes and beat Him
And spat upon His face.
He let them nail Him to the cross
In agony He took my place.
His precious blood was streaming down
From the crown of thorns He wore.
As He hung there on the cross,
All my sins He bore.
Words cannot describe the darkness
Of that moment in time,
But He endured without complaint,
To cover your sins and mine.
