The Kind Of God You Are

I thought when I was out in sin
I surely would be lost,
But all I had to do was come to you 
You'd already paid the cost.

You forgave my sins and set me free
You loved me with your whole heart.
In love, You made me realize
From me You'd never part.

I was so ashamed of how I'd lived
But you washed my sins away
You were that kind of God back then
And you're that kind of God today.

Now this world is out of control
My only stability is YOU
If you weren't the kind of God you are
I don't know what I'd do.

And so I want to thank you Lord
For Your love and for Your grace
For being the kind of God you are
And in your kingdom, making for me a place.
